Questions about therapy, the process, and what to expect.

What is therapy like?

Therapy is a collaborative process built around honest conversation, reflection, and meaningful change. Some sessions focus on current stressors or goals, while others create space to better understand patterns, relationships, emotions, and the pressures that shape everyday life.

What should I expect during the first session?

The first session is an opportunity to slow down and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We’ll discuss your background, current stressors, relationships, goals, and any questions you may have about the process.

There is no expectation to have everything figured out before starting.

Do I need to be in crisis to begin therapy?

Not at all. Many people begin therapy because they feel emotionally exhausted, disconnected, overwhelmed, stuck in recurring patterns, or aware that something in life no longer feels sustainable.

Therapy can be valuable during both difficult seasons and periods of growth or transition.

Why virtual therapy?

Peak & Purpose Counseling is a fully virtual practice designed to make therapy more accessible, flexible, and grounded in the realities of everyday life.

Virtual therapy allows clients to attend sessions from a private and familiar environment without the added stress of commuting, travel, or rearranging already demanding schedules. For many people, online therapy creates greater consistency, comfort, and ease while still allowing meaningful therapeutic work to occur.

Whether life feels overwhelming, fast-moving, uncertain, or emotionally exhausting, virtual therapy creates space to slow down, reflect honestly, and reconnect with yourself from wherever you are.
